Oldies were blasting from Nobles Plaza this past summer during an Aug. 15 car show hosted by Dream Machines, a Baldwinsville car club, and fellow car enthusiasts, the GM Kruzzers car club.
The Baldwinsville Volunteer Center was the beneficiary of all proceeds raised at the event, which totaled $400. Members of Dream Machines and GM Kruzzers recently presented the center with the donation.
“The volunteer center is so appreciative of these car clubs that remember us each year,” said Nancy Conley, executive director of the center.
Conley also had the honor of presenting the Judge’s Choice award, which Eric Granholm of Camillus won with his 1934 Chevy Coupe. It was one of many awards bestowed upon car owners at the show.
“It was beautiful – a metallic purple with black specks,” Conley said of the ’34 coupe.
Approximately 40 cars registered, however only about 20 showed because of the weather.
“If it’s raining, they just don’t want to bring their cars out,” Conley said.
Last year, the Baldwinsville Volunteer Center coordinated assistance for the family of a GM Kruzzers member, whose son was battling cancer. The donation was the car clubs’ way of giving back to the center.
“The center really went above and beyond what they offered to the families,” said Paul Grace, a fellow GM Kruzzers member.
