So far this season, each of the Fayetteville-Manlius bowling teams has found a way to flourish.
And the peak moment for the boys Hornets came in its second match against Baldwinsville, a team which had swept F-M when they first squared off in mid-January.
Here, though, the Hornets prevailed 2-1, largely due to the consistent play from its top quartet of bowlers.
Adam Koss shot games of 218, 191 and 217 during his 626 series, and Michael Nanno was close behind, shooting 183, 221 and 219 in a 623 series.
Ryan Yenny opened with a 221 on his way to a three-game total of 602, while John Jeffery closed with a flourish, shooting 244 to finish off a 592 series. Dawson Bigtree (621 series) and Eric Hildreth (593 series) led B’ville.
Armed with an 9-1-1 record going into last Tuesday’s match against Liverpool, the Hornets put together a 3-0 victory over the Warriors.
Nanno started with games of 214 and 226, and then dropped 10 strikes in a 268 games to finish with a 708 serie. Yenny’s games of 227, 202 and 237 produced a season-best 666 set.
Koss closed with with 10 strikes in a 267 game, part of a three-game total of 645. Jeffery started with 216 and 210 in his 595 series as Luke Middleton added two games of 201 and 186.
This followed a 3-0 shutout of West Genesee Feb. 4 where Koss had games of 231, 235 and 235 in his 701 series, aided by Jeffery, who opened with a 236 during his 610 set.
Also, the F-M girls bowling team continues to improve, highlighted by its own 3-0 victory over Liverpool last Tuesday afternoon.
Shelby Miner shot games of 204, 195 and 207 on her way to a 606 series. Samantha Estock opened with a 203 game and finished with a 546 series.
Kendra Elliot had a 505 series and 180 high game, while Meg Elliot’s 467 series included games of 181 and 178. Avery Page contributed a three-game total of 417.
This was the Hornets’ second win of the season, having dropped two matches to Baldwinsville before breaking that skid on Feb. 4 when it defeated West Genesee 3-0.
Estock led F-M with a 488 series, with Miner getting a three-game total of 469. Kendra Elliot’s 457 series beat out the 434 series from Lizzy Fischi and the 430 series from Meg Elliot.
East Syracuse Minoa bowled on Feb. 4 against Fulton, the boys Spartans defeating the Red Raiders 2-1 as Ryan Buffun had games of 243 and 225 during a 625 series, with Charles Eusori adding a 515 total.
