BALDWINSVILLE — ACR Health invites the community to participate in the 30th Annual AIDS Walk/Run 5K fundraiser, which takes place at 10 a.m. June 5 at Beaver Lake Nature Center in Baldwinsville.
The walk/run starts near the visitor’s center and goes into the trails of Deep Woods meandering through the serenity of a maturing forest going over a boardwalk. Majestic beech trees provide cool relief along the way. The path continues onto Three Meadows, where daisies dancing on warm breezes will put extra spring in your step as you cross sunny fields before enjoying the cool respite of the forest. The finish line is at the loop by the visitor’s center.
This event will help ensure the survival of critical services such as The Q Center, various programs for LGBTQ youth and their families, as well as HIV/AIDS client emergency needs in Central New York. This is a great opportunity to educate the community about all of the services that are available to those in need and to bring together community to support our mission, to create healthy communities by opening doors to services that enhance the well-being of all.
For the past 39 years, ACR Health has been on the front line of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. In addition, ACR Health is dedicated to fighting addiction, poverty, and LGBTQ inequality. As the needs in our community continue to grow, our efforts to meet them must do the same. The programs supported by the 30th Annual AIDS Walk/Run are vital components to preventing the transmission of HIV and work to eradicate this virus. While this is one of our biggest fundraising events, it also brings the community together to raise awareness and to act in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
ACR Health is here to help, not judge. 100% of the money raised at the AIDS Walk/Run stays local to help our community.
