Skaneateles–Skaneateles Central School District has announced that Connor Brown will be its new business manager. Brown has served as the district treasurer of Skaneateles CSD since 2016, bringing valuable financial management experience and knowledge of the district to his new position.
“I am very excited to continue working here to support our administration, staff and students,” Brown said. “I look forward to finding ways to give our students great opportunities.
In his role as district treasurer, Brown worked closely with administration to prepare and develop the school budget. He was responsible for managing subsidiary ledgers, bank reconciliations, financial transactions, cash receipts, fund balance, cash flow and other financial projections.
Before arriving at Skaneateles, Brown worked as the account clerk/district treasurer in the OCM BOCES Central Business Office.
“During my time as the Skaneateles district treasurer, I prided myself on actively working to build a team culture and I look forward to developing that culture further as business manager,” Brown said. “Building a great team benefits our employees and students.”
Brown said that the business manager role is one that he has wanted since he started at Skaneateles and is thrilled to have the opportunity.
“This is a critical role in our organization and we have faith and confidence in Connor’s ability to oversee the financial resources of our district, all through the lens of doing what is best for our students,” said Eric Knuth, superintendent of schools.
Brown said that planning for budget season is well underway and the community can expect more communications from the district as the vote date approaches.
