Thirteen Christian Brothers Academy students braved the snow and cold weather conditions to attend the New York State Theater Drama Conference Jan. 5 to 7 at the Villa Roma Resort in Callicoon, NY.
Students included were seniors Bridget Fallon, Kyle Huynh, Rebekah Lubinga, Oliva Moffa, Andrea Piston, Mikayla Santulli, Madison Scheer, Alexa Shahine and Rachel Tanguay, junior Skyler Bertrand and sophomores Michael Hill, Quinn Horan and Lizzie Lucas. The students were accompanied by faculty members Gene Moretti and Robert Michael Calimlim.
The conference created an opportunity for approximately 800 high school students from all over the state to come together for a full weekend of learning and peer interaction. The students attended over a hundred workshops given by colleges, universities and other theatre professionals and received expert instruction in technical theatre, acting, dance and voice. They also had an opportunity to network with one another and experience a variety of performances throughout the conference.
This is the tenth year that CBA has sent representatives to the NYSTEA Student Conference.
