Mary K. Laskowski, 65, of Skaneateles, went to the Lord peacefully on Saturday Nov. 5, 2016, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous four- year battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born in Erie, PA., to the late Thomas and Gwendolyn Blanchard Lowry. She graduated from Edinboro University with a master’s degree in education which led to her love of children as a teacher at Stonehedge Elementary for 19 years.
Mary loved to travel, shop, watch movies, go to lunch with the girls and spend time at the lake with family. She loved going to the theater to see Broadway Shows and Musicals, especially when her son Ian was performing.
She truly was the salt of the earth always putting family and friends before herself and her needs.
Mary is survived by her loving husband of 38 years Robert, sons Andrew (Anne) and Ian and greatly anticipated grandchild. She also leaves behind her siblings Patrick (Rita) Lowry, Susan (Hans) Sass and John (Mary Ann) Lowry along with many nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian burial was held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10, at St. Mary’s of the Lake Church, Skaneateles. Relatives and friends called on the family from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, at the Robert D. Gray Funeral Home, 49 Jordan St., Skaneateles.
Memorial donations in Mary’s memory may be made to either St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or The Lustgarden Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer. To send condolences visit: robertdgrayfuneralhome.com.
