SKANEATELES — Skaters from the Skaneateles Figure Skating Club will present “The Wizard of Oz on Ice” during their annual Ice Dreams 2021 show at the Skaneateles YMCA on Saturday, April 17 at 2 p.m.
Due to COVID-19 safety parameters this show will be available for purchase via a downloadable link to watch in the comfort of your own home. If anything changes before the April 17 show date there will be tickets available for purchase at the live show. More information will be updated at SkaneatelesFigureSkatingClub.org .
The Skaneateles Figure Skating Club is trying something new for 2021 with this special performance featuring 20 skaters ranging in age from 6 to 18.
“Everyone loves ‘The Wizard of Oz’ and we thought this would be a great time to do something different and fun for the community to enjoy,” said Lisa Mirabito, ice show director. “The skaters have been working so hard and all of our parents and coaches are very proud of them.”
You can also support the Skaneateles Figure Skating Club through their fundraising efforts. This year they will be raffling off a private hot air balloon tour for two with Finger Lakes Ballooning donated by Kreidler Advisory Services. The Skaneateles Figure Skating Club has been a member of U.S. Figure Skating since 1970. The purpose of the program is the take a skater from the very beginning stages to the point where they are capable of participating in higher level US Figure Skating tests and competitions recognized nationwide. Club members come not only from Skaneateles, but also Auburn, Elbridge, Camillus, Marcellus and surrounding Syracuse areas.
