In this season of giving, many look for ways to help others as a way to give back to the community.
Whether serving pancakes at Beaver Lake during the center’s holiday breakfasts, volunteering at the local food pantry or collecting gifts for the Baldwinsville Christmas Bureau for families in need, we all find a way to do our part.
For those who enjoy driving, you might consider becoming a volunteer for the B’ville Express. This program offers seniors in the Greater Baldwinsville area transportation to doctors’ appointments, the pharmacy, the grocery store and Canton Woods Senior Center. An increasingly busy and growing program, B’ville Express relies upon dedicated volunteer drivers with a reliable vehicle to help transport Baldwinsville seniors to necessary appointments. Availability is up to you – you can donate your time when you are available whether it is a couple times a week or once every few of months, every ride counts.
If you would like to learn more about becoming a driver for B’ville Express, you are invited to participate in the Driver Appreciation and Recruitment Holiday Reception held from 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 15 at Canton Woods. B’ville Express is located at Canton Woods Senior Center, 76 Canton St. in the village. For more information, call 638-0097.
