A 53-year-old Mattydale man was hit and killed on the Thruway late Sunday night in Manlius.
The accident happened in the eastbound lanes of the New York State Thruway. State Police say Todd S. Young, an operator for Northern Lights Towing, was outside the tow truck helping a disabled vehicle. Police say a tractor-trailer driven by Kurt Brown, 40, of Herkimer, hit and killed Young.
Brown, a driver for Estes Express, was ticketed for unsafely changing lanes.
