The Cazenovia Village Baptist Church will honor and express thanks for various community groups as part of a special “Appreciation Sunday” worship service at 10:30 a.m. on Flag Day, June 14.
Among those invited are Cazenovia’s elected officials and all members of the Cazenovia Fire Department, Police Department, and Cazenovia Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps. The service is open to the public and will take place at the Baptist Church located on 7 Seminary Street in Cazenovia, next to the Cazenovia College campus.
“Our desire is to have members from each organization join us and take a few minutes to share with us some of the joys and satisfaction of their work, as well as to help us understand more concretely the difficulties they face,” Pastor Richard Dickinson said. “We’d also like to express our thanks individually, so we encourage anyone who has been helped or ministered to by any of these servants to join us in showing appreciation.”
The service will center on the following Scripture from 1 Timothy 2:1-2: “I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone– for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.” This time of thanksgiving will conclude with refreshments, including a special cake to honor “Cazenovia’s finest.”
