Cazenovia — Cazenovia village police are currently investigating a reported assault that occurred during the early morning hours of Sunday, Feb. 7, and are continuing to develop leads and interview witnesses.
Initial reports stated the incident was an alleged stabbing. Timothy Greene, director of communications for Cazenovia College, said the village police are “investigating an off campus incident that was reported as a possible stabbing early Sunday morning.” Two students were treated for non-life-threatening injuries, Greene said.
“There is no need to believe that any of the public or college students are in any danger at this time. This appears to be an isolated incident,” Hayes said.
Hayes said he “believes that a successful conclusion will result later this week.”
Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact the Cazenovia Police Department at 655-3276. All calls will remain confidential.
