Cicero — Saturday, Feb. 6, sees the return of the ever-popular “Sweets for Your Sweetie” Book and Bake Sale at NOPL @ Cicero.
The annual sale, sponsored by the Friends of the Cicero Library, will feature thousands of gently used fiction and non-fiction books, children’s books, DVDs, and CDs. Prices range from $0.50 to $2, depending on the type of item. The sale runs from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a bag sale starting at 1:30 p.m. For only $2 you can fill a bag, which is provided. In addition, there will be an assortment of delicious, homemade baked goods available for purchase. Proceeds from the sale benefit the NOPL @ Cicero.
Also happening that Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. is NOPL at Cicero’s first-ever Tech Petting Zoo. You’ll have an opportunity to get hands-on with some of the library’s tech gadgets, and staff will be on-hand to demonstrate different devices and help answer your tech questions. Among the items that will be available to “pet” will be the one of the library’s Roku devices, which are equipped with Netflix, a Google Chromecast screen casting device that will be available for lending soon, and you’ll be able use our mini iPads to try out some of the library’s digital lending services, which provide home access to e-books, streaming movies and music, and more.
