On Sunday, Aug. 11, Caz Block Fest will return to the Village of Cazenovia for the second year.
The event will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. on Lincklaen Street between Albany Street and the post office.
Organized by the Greater Cazenovia Area Chamber of Commerce (GCACC), the event is a celebration of the community and the Historic Cazenovia Business District.
“The Caz Block Fest will be another great event to round out the summer season in Cazenovia,” said Mayor Kurt Wheeler. “Many thanks to the organizers for creating this fun opportunity to gather together and enjoy the wonderful environment in our historic downtown.”
The afternoon will feature face painting; balloon magicians; a bounce house and kids games sponsored by Summit Church; and food for purchase.
Food offerings will include a chicken BBQ, ice cream, and family-friendly offerings from the Lincklaen House and Caz Pizza.
The food and activities will be accompanied by a live musical performance at 1 p.m. by the Syracuse-based band Ponytail James.
“[Be sure to] join us at our community table on Lincklaen Street to see your neighbor, eat great food, listen to energizing music and play fun games,” said GCACC Vice Chairperson and 20|EAST owner McKenzie Houseman. “There is something for everyone, and we can’t wait to enjoy it with all of you . . . Hats off to all of [our amazing sponsors] that continue to give support where and how they are able. We thank you.”
Caz Block Fest is supported by a number of sponsors including: HLP Holdings LLC, Paul Curtin, Community Bank, Eagle Newspapers, PDJ Lumber, Knowles, Tops, Cazenovia College, MPDL Associates Inc., Bruce Waynee, Cazenovia Jewelry, Cazenovia Cutblock, Aronson Media, 20|EAST, Caz Laundry, Lincklaen House, Catherine Cummings Theatre, Lillie Bean and Summit Church.
The festive weekend will kick off on Saturday, Aug. 10 with the Farmers’ Market in Cannon Park from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and “Shred Fest” from noon to 3 p.m. in the Community Bank parking lot.
Shred Fest is a free event sponsored by Community Bank, N.A. that will provide community members with the opportunity to shred personal documents on-site to safeguard against identity theft and fraud.
