Each of the West Genesee bowling teams took part in a pair of Salt City Athletic Conference matches at Solvay Recreation Alleys prior to the holiday break.
In last Thursday’s match against Auburn, the boys Wildcats found success, breaking a four-match skid by sweeping the Maroons 3-0 for its first victory of the season.
Richard Wituszynski started with a 202, added games of 182 and 157 and finished with a 548 series, tops among individuals.
Calvin Lee shot a 191 game in the middle of his 496 series, while Bobby Bidwell started with a 192 on his way to a 494 set. No one on Auburn’s roster could produce a series better than Alexander Guzewicz’s 471 total.
WG’s girls lost 3-0, with Lorelai Leskoske leading the Wildcats thanks to a three-game total of 406. Gabbie Gardner had a 404 series, with Rebecca Wituszynski getting a 385 set. Auburn’s Kaylee Hodson led her side with a 470 series.
A day later, WG hosted Baldwinsville, and once again the boys Wildcats prevailed, holding off the Bees by a 2-1 margin.
Bidwell finished with games of 204 and 196 in his 554 series. Richard Wituszynski had a 182 game in the middle of his 519 series.
Deano Procopio earned a 493 series, just ahead of the 476 series from Connor Chawgo and the 465 series from Lee. On B’ville’s side, Dylan Love led with a 514 series.
Meanwhile, the girls Wildcats could not get a point against B’ville in a 3-0 defeat. Rebecca Wituszynski’s 386 series was just ahead of Gardner (365 series) and Leskoske (354 series), far off the 524 series from the Bees’ Amelia Ponto.
Before all this, WG bowled on Dec. 16 against Central Square at Green Acres Bowl, taking a pair of 3-0 defeats.
In the girls match, WG’s Lorelai Leskoske shot 215 and 212 games on her way to a 586 series, with Gardner getting a 412 set. Victoria Ackley (543 series) and Katie Vredenburg (518 series) led Central Square.
Richard Wituszynski’s 569 series, with a second game of 232, highlighted the work of the WG boys, though Central Square’s Dimitri Queior put up a 267 between games of 236 and 220 to earn a 723 series, helped by a 682 series from Kevin Radziseski.
