A long win streak continued for the Liverpool girls bowling team, but Cicero-North Syracuse kept pace with them as both moved to the top of the Salt City Athletic Conference Metro division standings.
Back in action last Tuesday, the girls Warriors blanked Syracuse 3-0 for its 19th consecutive match win, having Mackenzie Gill shoot a 214 game at Flamingo Bowl as Dominique Cimini had a 496 series (196 high game) and Riley Warren added a 475 series
C-NS got a big win of its own that same day, taking down Baldwinsville 3-0 at Strike-N-Spare Lanes after the Bees had won its first four matches to start the season.
Jessaia McGriff led the Northstars with a 570 series and 203 high game, and it was C-NS’s depth that proved important as Mikayla Drodz added a 511 series and high game of 178.
Elianna Pitts, with a 495 series, was one pin better than Katie Cloonan’s 494 set. By contrast, the Bees only had two series of 400 or better as Brooke Flask had a three-game total of 500 and Amelia Ponto got a 449 seriesMoving to boys bowling, C-NS had a different result against B’ville, taking a 2-1 defeat despite plenty of fine totals, including 623 series from J.J. O’Connell and Tim Cloonan, though neither had a game better than Cloonan’s 629.
Just behind them, Justin Morris had a 602 series and 247 high game, with Landon Spingler’s 246 game part of a 582 set. On B’ville’s side, Tanner Rozycko shot a 258 in his 640 series, helped by Dylan Williams (614 series, 238 high game) and Dylan Love, whose 247 game was part of a 596 set.
Liverpool handled Syracuse 3-0 that same day, paced by Deacon Roberson’s 628 series, though his 242 high game trailed the 251 from Devin Roberson that was part of a 620 series as Brandon Davis contributed a 616 series and high game of 234.
A day later, at Solvay Recreation Alley, Liverpool faced West Genesee, where the girls Warriors had its 20th consecutive win by sweeping the Wildcats 3-0.
Cimini’s 505 series and 184 high game trailed WG’s Gina Neri, who had a 231 game and 546 series. But Cimini had more depth on her side as Gill shot a 218 game in her 464 series, Ashley Hardy had a 214 game and Brandi Harmon (428 series) beat out Warren (415 series).
It was a closer boys match, but Liverpool edged WG 2-1, with Devon Roberson shooting a high game of 223 as Zak Ormsby got a 213 game and Josh Winzens got a 211 game.
C-NS handled Syracuse 3-0 in both matches Thursday at Strike-N-Spare Lanes, with Cloonan the star of the boys match thanks to his 255 game that was part of a 659 series.
Ample help came from Spingler, whose 611 series included a 219 game. O’Connell had a steady 597 series (214 high game) as Morris got a 589 series and Tyler Dottolo a 537 series.
