The West Genesee girls volleyball team hosted Class AA powerhouse Baldwinsville Wednesday night, and once again the Bees proved too tough, sweeping the Wildcats 25-7, 25-18, 25-14.
Anna Snyder had eight assists for the Wildcats, but no one had more than the three kills put up by Mia Lamanna, Isabella Allen and Julia Quirk. B’ville’s Summer McClintic had 31 assists, feeding it to Katie Welcher and Rileigh Kimball, who had 13 kills apiece.
Earlier in the week, Bishop Ludden rolled over Altmar-Parish-Williamstown 25-21, 25-17, 25-14 as Aurora Deshaies earned eight kills, served up six aces and got six digs.
Jasmine Cuffee helped on the Gaelic Knights’ front line with six kills and four aces, while Mary Patrick had three kills, joining Jayden Burney and Alexis Pietrowski with three kills. Sarah Morrell fed all of them with 15 assists and Emma Catalano got 10 digs.
Ludden slumped on Thursday, falling to Living Word Academy 25-19, 25-23, 25-21, challenging in each of the sets, but falling short as Deshaies had seven kills and Catalano 13 digs, with Morrell getting five assists.
Jordan-Elbridge visited Skaneateles last Tuesday and won the first set 25-22, but could not sustain that success as it lost the next three sets to the Lakers 25-19, 25-14 and 25-20.
Mackenzie Kreisler still had six aces and six assists for the Eagles as Ranait McGuire and Paige Lane both earned two aces and three kills. McGuire also had 12 digs, one more than Emily Bard as Ashlee Eaton joined Lane with six digs.
However, J-E did win on Thursday against Hamilton, dominating the first set 25-6, only to drop the second set 26-24 before stopping the Emerald Knights 25-15 and 25-21 in the next two sets.
Eaton had eight assists, five kills, four aces and five digs, with Lane and Bard each adding nine digs as Lane got three kills and three aces. Cassie Klock earned six aces and four kills, with Kreisler gaining six assists. McGuire had six digs and three aces.
