The Northern Onondaga Public Library (NOPL) has launched a new app to help patrons find and request items, book library appointments, and manage their account. The app is called myLIBRO, and it is available to download for free in both the iOS and android app stores.
After a patron downloads the myLIBRO app, they enter their library card and PIN to connect it to their library account. Additional cards may be entered for family members. From there, Curbside Holds Pickup or library visits can be scheduled, and voice or text can be used to search the library catalog for items or manage accounts.
“Over the past few months our staff and patrons have had to adapt to a new normal for libraries,” says NOPL Director Amanda Travis. “This has meant scheduling appointments for curbside pickup, computer use, and browsing. We’re excited to offer a solution that makes this process as simple as ordering groceries or takeout from a local restaurant, while keeping the health and safety of the community and library staff a priority.”
Can’t download the app, or prefer not to? Curbside Holds Pickup appointments can still be scheduled via an online form. A link to the form — as well as detailed information about downloading and using myLIBRO — can be found by visiting nopl.org/curbside.
Appointments can still be made by calling the library as well: NOPL Brewerton 315-676-7484; NOPL Cicero 315-699-2032; NOPL North Syracuse 315-458-6184.
