Francis J. (Jim) and Shirley (Richards) Kelly will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Oct. 2 at a dinner party to be hosted by their five children at Tassone’s Wine Garden in Baldwinsville.
Jim and Shirley were married on Oct. 6, 1956, in St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church in Chadwicks, NY. William J. Kelly, brother to the groom, served as the best man and Margaret Zambon (Hillman), friend to the bride, was the maid of honor.
Jim and Shirley both graduated with the Class of 1954 from Chadwicks High School. Jim, a New York State Professional Engineer, attended Mohawk Valley Technical Institute (now MVCC) and University College in Syracuse. He retired from Crouse-Hinds after 43 years of service. Prior to marriage, Shirley worked at Household Finance Company, Utica, and at General Electric on French Road. She retired from her elected position with the town of Lysander after 26 years of service, including 24 years as town clerk. The couple has resided in Baldwinsville since 1967.
The Kelly family includes daughter Erin Trexler of Baldwinsville, daughter Nona Kelly of Lyons, daughter and son-in-law Rachel and Oladipo Anjorin of Liverpool, daughter and son-in-law Alicia and Karl Kuehn of Greene and son and daughter-in-law Sean and Karen Kelly of Camillus. The Kellys have nine grandchildren: Travis, Justin and Ashley Trexler, Julian, Leah and Isabel Anjorin and Summer, Riley and Teshale Kelly, as well as two great-granddaughters, Candice and Morgan Trexler.
