To the editor:
On Friday, Dec. 1, the downtown streets were filled with hundreds of people to celebrate the 40th annual Cazenovia Christmas Walk. I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the people who helped make it the beautiful event that it was once again.
Fred Agerter (AmeriCu), thank you for all the hard work you put into this event. The details were spectacular, the evening ran perfectly and everyone on the streets had a great time. Anna Marie (GCACC), thank you for all of the behind-the-scenes work you did and for everything you do for the chamber.
The street vendors and Community Band’s music added to the festive feeling of the evening. Thanks to Bill Carr and the village crew for hanging wreaths and lights, and the Garden Club and Alpha Phi Omega’s for hanging the garland. Thanks Matt McDowell and Wayne McFarland for taking care of the music and sound engineering. Thanks to Ian Cornue for setting up his stage and letting us use it again this year.
Thank you Reverend Dr. Oak for leading us in prayer and blessing the event. Thanks to Joanne Rinaldo (Cazenovia School of Ballet) and Allison Cornue (Allure Dance Studio) for bringing their dancers to open the evening. Thank you to Common Grounds and Dave’s Diner for letting us use their space as needed. Thanks to Maggie Dougherty and her choir for all the carols they sang, and to Rosemary Langey for the always fun version of the Twelve Days of Christmas.
Thank you to all of the merchants that were open and all of the vendors who supplied hot drinks and food to the strollers. The International Santas were a huge hit, thank you to the college students who came and were wonderfully in costume and spirit. Thank you Dave Cox for making the magic happen.
Thanks to Tom Tait for planting the new Christmas Tree and taking care of the lights on both trees. Thank you Abraham Hannafan for joining us on the stage to emcee and get everyone excited. Thank you to Mayor Kurt Wheeler for joining us and helping keep Cazenovia extra special. Thank you to the Fire Department for delivering Santa on a firetruck and to the Police Department for keeping everyone safe that evening.
And, of course, thank you Santa Claus, it wouldn’t have been the same without you! Thank you to everyone involved. (Hopefully we didn’t forget anyone!) Happy Holidays,
Lori Lewis, President
