Mocktail mixology, heavy metal yoga, and a book club at a brewery — what do they all have in common? They’re all part of a brand new lineup of monthly events for adults from the Northern Onondaga Public Library (NOPL). Check out the new events below — then head to nopl.org/newfor2020 to learn more and sign up — we’ll see you there!
Heavy Metal Yoga
6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, at NOPL Cicero, 8686 Knowledge Lane
Fan of yoga but not the cheesy dental office music soundtrack that sometimes accompanies the practice? Unleash your inner beast at Heavy Metal Yoga! This is a beginner’s yoga class, but with sludgy, doomy, metal favorites as the soundtrack and some extra focus on the most metal of postures. No yoga or metal experience necessary. Just bring a mat and a friend. Space is limited; signup is required.
Books & Brews
7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, at Full Boar Brewery, 628 S. Main St,. North Syracuse
This is not your parents’ book club. Cure your Wednesday slump with a book paired with a pint. Adults 21 and older are invited to join us the second Wednesday of every month to kick back, relax and chat about books at Full Boar Brewery in North Syracuse.
Who’s picking the reads? You are! Help decide upcoming books at our first meeting.
Literary Mocktails
6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 19, at NOPL Cicero, 8686 Knowledge Lane
Think cocktails with no alcohol are boring? Think again! Learn from a local mixologist how to create sophisticated and flavorful non-alcoholic drinks inspired by literary works, like Tequila Mockingbird, Margarita Atwood, Romeo and Julep, and The Last of the Mojitos. Space is limited; sign-up is required.
