Hoopla is a digital service available to Northern Onondaga Public Library (NOPL) cardholders. With Hoopla, users can stream television shows, movies, and music, listen to audiobooks, and read e-books and comic books. If you already enjoy using this service, read on — there’s some exciting additions to Hoopla we’d like to tell you about. If you’re not already acquainted with Hoopla, there’s no time like the present.
Over the last couple of months, Hoopla has announced some major deals with Sesame Street, Archie Comics and Viacom, which means popular shows from networks such as Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., Comedy Central, MTV, Spike, VH1, TV Land and CMT will be added to their catalog.
Hoopla has also teamed up with Marvel Entertainment to add more than 250 Marvel comic books and graphic novels from series like “Thor: God of Thunder,” “Black Panther” and “X-Men.” Fans of this genre will especially enjoy Hoopla’s “action view,” which allows the books to be read page-by-page or panel-by-panel.
Over the last couple of weeks, Hoopla was also added to Apple TV, Android TV and Fire TV and they have launched an app on Roku Players and Roku TVs. If you have one of these devices, you can now borrow shows and movies and enjoy watching them on your television instead of being restricted to a small computer screen or tablet.
And did you know that you will never get late fees when you borrow digital items? They return automatically, so there’s nothing to worry about. Give Hoopla a try. Visit nopl.org/hoopla to get started.
