William Frederick Gottheld passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 9, 2021. He was born March 9, 2000, the son of Jeffrey Scott and Pamela (Kirschenheiter) Gottheld. Will attended F-M Schools and graduated from Fayetteville-Manlius High School in 2018, where he was a member of the National Honor Society, Young Conservatives Club, the varsity lacrosse team, the varsity soccer team and he participated in many different school events and causes.
He was always active and enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, playing basketball, playing lacrosse, playing soccer and being with his friends. He was very artistic and enjoyed building with wood. When he was younger Will was a Cub Scout, played viola, played trumpet, made the F-M All-Star baseball team two years in a row, played boy’s modified lacrosse and boy’s modified basketball. He played with the High Octane AAU Basketball Club and the Immaculate Conception CYO basketball team. He went on the St. Ann’s Mission trip to Washington, D.C. He volunteered for the Annual Salvation Army Christmas Drive. He enjoyed the Pittsburgh Penguins and was passionate about the Pittsburgh Steelers and Liverpool FC.
His part-time work included Toggenburg Mountain as a snowboard instructor, Town of Manlius Recreation Department as a summer camp counselor, East Area YMCA as a child care counselor, Keneally and Webster Painting as a painter and ABM Industries as an intern.
Will was a senior at the University at Buffalo, a member of Tau Epsilon Fraternity (President of TEP April 2020 -May 2021), Rush Chairman, Social Media Chairman, Philanthropy Chairman all for Tau Epsilon Phi, volunteering for the betterment of Buffalo, intermural soccer, basketball, football and hockey teams.
Will is survived by his parents, Jeffrey Scott and Pamela (Kirschenheiter) Gottheld; his younger brother, Christopher Gottheld; his maternal grandmother, Sue Ellen Kirschenheiter; his paternal grandfather, William F. Gottheld; his aunt, Jennifer (Mark) Campanella; his aunt, Katrina Kirschenheiter; his cousins, Brooke, Sarah, Taylor, Jacob and Lexi; second cousins, great aunts and great uncles.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Frederick J. Kirschenheiter; his paternal grandmother, Judith Gottheld; his maternal step-grandfather, Donald H. Barrett; and his uncle, Frederick J. Kirschenheiter II.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 17th at Newell-Fay Manlius Chapel, 8171 Cazenovia Rd., Manlius. The funeral mass will be offered at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 18, at St. Ann’s Church, 104 Academy St., Manlius.
