Werner F. Henneberg, 78, of Cazenovia, passed away unexpectedly Monday, Dec. 21, 2020, at University Hospital. He was born June 3, 1942, in Valparaiso, Indiana to Werner O. and Louise Henneberg and was a graduate of Delhi State College. Werner was a New York State Licensed Civil Engineer P.E. and was employed at GHD (formerly Stearns & Wheler). He was a member of the International Association of Electrical Inspectors Empire Chapter, a life member of the N.R.A., and also the N.Y.S. Farm Bureau. Werner was a former member of the N.Y.S. Department of Environmental Conservation where he was a bowhunter instructor, N.Y.S. Ducks Unlimited Chapter and Cazenovia Youth Hockey.
In his leisure time, Werner enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to hockey games and Jimmy Buffett Concerts, He cherished the time spent with his five children, grandchildren, his faithful felines, Stewie, Spike, Spooky and Stout along with his best friends, Kevin (Nan) Bailey and John Virginia.
Werner is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Shirley J. (Schelah) Henneberg, his daughters, Christina M. (William) Monroe of Cicero and Tammie L. (Martin) Wituszynski of Greenwood, IN; his sons, Terry J. Henneberg of St. Petersburg, FL., Werner R. (Desirae) Henneberg of Boston, MA and John C. (Maria) Henneberg of Cazenovia; his grandchildren, Bradley Monroe, Samantha, Marty and Justin Wituszynski, Nola, Olive, Leah and Adam Henneberg; his great granddaughter, Eleanor Laurnen; his sisters, Lorna Newburn and Patrice Kemp of Mountain Home, AR; his brother, John Henneberg of Cornville, AZ; his brother-in-law, Charles E. Westfall of Morrisville as well as several nieces and nephews.
Werner’s family wishes to extend their heartfelt thank you to Dr. Lenox, Dr. Sah and all the compassionate doctors and nurses at Upstate University Hospital’s 8Th Floor E. unit.
