Richard T. Lee, 75, of Seattle, WA, passed away unexpectedly as a result of an unfortunate accident on Wednesday, March 27, 2019. Born in Providence, RI, he was the son of the late Richard and Louise (Whipple-Thurber) Lee.
Richard graduated from Cazenovia Central High School, Cazenovia, and attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. He then left Berklee and went on to serve in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and was a member of the United States Air Force Military Band for four years, where he was a proficient French hornist. Richard worked for Seattle City Light for many years until retirement. He had also been the proprietor of North Seattle Chimney Cleaning for many years. Richard was a longtime resident of Seattle and a frequent caller to the local radio talk shows. Known on the shows as “Dick in Seattle,” he was an extremely knowledgeable contributor discussing local, state and national politics. He also loved and cared for animals and was deeply involved in many animal rights and rescue leagues. Richard will be remembered as a kind, gentle and loving man by his sister, nephews and dear friends.
He leaves his sister, Diana L. Lee of Naples, FL, and two nephews, Stephen A. Lee of Los Angeles, CA, and Christopher G. Lee of Damascus, PA. He was the brother-in-law of the late David T. Lee.
Graveside Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 1, at Riverside Cemetery, 724 Pleasant St. Pawtucket, RI. Calling Hours and flowers are respectfully omitted.
