To the editor:
Fifty-six years ago I was 12 years old living a good life. Then an event changed everything for me that day. The “end of the innocence,” as it were.
Today, not a word written or spoken about that eventful tragedy. Greed and partisan politics have gripped our nation. As Americans, we don’t care about each other, only ourselves. The dream has died and survival is the order of the day. I feel our very soul as a nation is at stake. An attitude adjustment is in order.
“Ask not what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country.”
No finer words have ever been spoken.
RIP JFK.
