The DeWitt Police Department reports that on Oct. 5 at around 9:40 p.m., officers responded to an armed robbery at the Speedway gas station located at 357 Nottingham Road.
According to the department, a black male wearing a light-colored baseball cap, a black face covering, a light green sweatshirt with a camouflage hood, gray sweatpants, and blue Buffalo Bills gloves was responsible for the robbery. He was also carrying a Price Rite brand reusable shopping bag upon his entrance into the store, at which point he went behind the counter and held a knife against the clerk, ultimately stealing money and cigarettes before leaving on foot, police said.
The suspect then got into an older model Ford Explorer and drove to the south side of Syracuse.
The DeWitt Police Department Criminal Investigations Division is currently and actively investigating the robbery and is seeking the public’s assistance.
The police department asks for anyone who either has any information regarding the identity of the suspect or who observed the suspect and/or the associated vehicle on Oct. 5 to contact the department by phone at 315-449-3640 or by email at [email protected].
