The DeWitt Police Department has apprehended the man behind the Sept. 17 robbery at the Chase Bank on East Genesee Street.
The perpetrator has been identified as 41-year-old John Revette, who was located at his residence in DeWitt today around 3 p.m.
Revette made a full confession to officers and led them to the clothing he had worn the day of the robbery, including the dark, striped dress shirt and purple tie seen in the surveillance footage frames that have circulated.
Revette was arrested and charged with both robbery in the third degree and petit larceny. He is currently in custody and awaiting arraignment.
The DeWitt Police are keeping the amount stolen from the Chase Bank undisclosed for the time being.
