The DeWitt Police Department reported the arrest of a subject who was taking stolen credit card information and making fraudulent cards.
At about 10 a.m. on June 10, officers say they executed search warrant on Bellevue Avenue in Syracuse after undertaking an investigation that lasted several months. Police report the suspect, Joshua Lyons, 22, of Bellevue Avenue, had been making credit cards by using a skimming device, embossing the credit cards, encoding them and using them at area stores to purchase merchandise.
The search warrant was executed with the assistance of the Syracuse Police and FBI.
Lyon was arrested and charged with several counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument in the second degree and identity theft in the second degree. He was arraigned in the Town of DeWitt Court and held on $50,000 cash/bond returnable to DeWitt Court on June 16.
Officers say the investigation is continuing and more charges are pending.
