Local Izaak Walton League chapter wins awards

At their October meeting, the CNY Chapter of the Izaak Walton League celebrated receiving several awards for 2017 at the recent IWLA National Convention.

The awards included the Defenders Chapter Achievement Award, the Save Our Streams Award, and the National Conservation Award for Niles Brown. Also received was the Robert C. O’Hair Award for their Young Naturalist Program, a program which teaches youth about nature at the Manlius, Cazenovia and other local libraries. In addition, IWLA Endowment’s Million Dollar Club plaques were presented to the CNY Chapter, to member Les Monostory, and to member Conrad Strozik.

The Izaak Walton League is a national conservation organization dedicated to conserving, restoring, and promoting the sustainable use and enjoyment of America’s natural resources. The CNY Chapter locally promotes clean air, water and soil.
