Cazenovian Amy Getman has been selected to be inducted into the 2018 MAAC Basketball Honor Roll at Niagara University. She will be enshrined in “The MAAC Experience” exhibit at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on Saturday, September 15.
Getman (1997-2001) was a perennial scorer for the Niagara Purple Eagles women’s basketball team from the field and the foul line. A sharp-shooting guard, Getman finished her career with 1,687 points, which is the fourth-most in Niagara women’s basketball history.
She holds the program career record in free throws made (510) and is second in free throw attempts (605) and free throw percentage (.842). Getman set single season records in free throws made (196) and free throw attempts (221) in the 2000-01 season.
Her career scoring average of 15.9 points per game is second-best in Niagara women’s basketball history and she is the only player to score 500-plus points in three seasons (1998-2001).
Getman was named to the All-MAAC First Team three times (1998-2001). She was inducted into the Niagara University Athletics Hall of Fame in 2008.
