Norma and Wallace Roher, who are lifelong area residents, will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on Sept. 2.
The Rohers were married in Bouckville in 1951. They both graduated from Syracuse University with degrees, respectively, in home economics and civil engineering. They have five children: Susan (Ken) Delong of Franklinville, N.Y.; Ellen (Tom) Coblentz, of Fairplay, Md.; Wayne (Dawn) Roher, of Columbia, Md.; Jean (Sal) DiMercurio, of Hagerstown, Md.; and Karen (Paul) Rizzo, of Sterling, Va. They also have 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Norma remains active in her church’s activities (Delphi Falls United Church) and enjoys quilting. Wallace, with his trusty backhoe, is quick to help out a friend or neighbor in need and still loves to tell stories about his days in the Army Air Corps and the construction work he did throughout the state of New York. They still enjoy traveling and visiting with family and friends.
