Caeli Carroll, a junior at Cazenovia High School, has been selected as the Cazenovia Lions Club Student of the Month for June 2016. Caeli is the daughter of Greg and Maureen Carroll of Cazenovia.
Caeli’s nomination by Paul Haney, of the High School faculty, reads as follows:
“Caeli Carroll’s dedication and commitment to the betterment of the Cazenovia community is extremely commendable. She gives of herself in numerous capacities, not just as an assistant or helper but a leader. Her commitment to excellence is what motivates her to better herself but also the community in which she lives.
“She has been a class officer for the past three years, helping guide the Class of 2017 to new heights, mainly due to the fact of her willingness to work with all of her classmates. She has endeared herself not only to her classmates, but also the faculty and staff at CCSD. This internal drive to bettering the community is aided by the fact that Caeli uses her talents to give back to others, whether in athletics, church or her hobbies.
“She has volunteered over the years to help teach the youth in field hockey and track clinics, and score meets or games, long after most others have left. Caeli also teaches youth dance and gymnastics. As a member of St. James, she has sung in the choir, altar served and taught the children in the nursery, and continues to do so to this day.
All of these efforts display her commitment of seeing her works through completion, which for her never seems to end. Caeli truly embodies the motto, “Be Kind, Live Kind.”
The Cazenovia Lions Club is pleased to recognize Caeli for her service to her class, the school and the community.
Student of the Month nominations can be made by students, school staff members, parents or community members. Nomination forms are available from the assistant principal’s office at Cazenovia High School or from the Cazenovia Lions Club.
