Each year the Monsignor Meaney, Knights of Columbus 9042, Elbridge conducts a golf tournament at the Pearl Lakes Golf Course in Skaneateles to benefit the Jordan-Elbridge and Skaneateles Ecumenical Food Pantries.
This year the men’s winner were Dean Bigness, Matt Coates,Kevin Simmons and Mo Bigness.
The mixed winners were Holden Fenner, John Stith, Hillary Fenner and Jay Stith
But, according to the Knights of Columbus, the real winners are the distressed families who benefit from these local food pantries.
This year the event was able to raise over $3,000 in cash and provisions shared by the two food pantries.
With the ever-increasing needs locally, our food pantries are being stretched to maintain the level of outreach to those in need.
Each donation of non-perishable food items and financial support is greatly appreciated.
In the 19 years of this tournament, the Elbridge Council has been able to disburse in cash and provisions over $62,000 for the two food pantries.
