It has been said that being in nature will bring out the best in people. In the case of the current art exhibit at Baltimore Woods Nature Center, artists have been inspired to create a variety of work, all related to nature in Upstate New York.
Now through Dec. 21, the Fifteenth Annual Members’ Exhibit will be on display in the Art Gallery of the John A. Weeks Interpretive Center at 4007 Bishop Hill Road.
An opening reception for this show washeld on Nov. 4.
The exhibit may also be seen when the Interpretive Center is open on Saturdays from 10 to 4 p.m. and Monday through Friday from 9 to 4 p.m.
There are no admission or parking fees, and all of the artwork is for sale.
“Drawing on Talent” is a “something for everyone” exhibit.
Subject matter includes water, sky, and forest, as well as animals and flowers, each individually interpreted. There is also a wide breadth of media: ceramic; oil, acrylic, watercolor, and pastel painting; ink and colored pencil drawing; weaving, prints, and photography.
Visitors will recognize beautiful Central New York venues: Nine Mile Creek, The Point in Skaneateles, Beaver Lake Nature Center, Heiberg Forest, Pleasant Valley, and Tinker Falls
This year, the show also has several images depicting various aspects of Baltimore Woods Nature Center.
