DESTINY USA is teaming up with TOMRA, one of the world’s most accomplished bottle and can recyclers, to launch a massive bottle and can drive the weekend of April 15 and 16, benefiting Honor Flight Syracuse and the veterans it proudly honors throughout Central New York.
The funds raised will support Honor Flight Syracuse and its ongoing mission to fly as many Central New York veterans as possible at no cost to Washington, DC to experience the war memorials built in honor of them and their service.
DESTINY USA is hosting the big bottle and can drop-off weekend, Saturday, April 15 and Sunday, April 16, from 9 to 5 p.m. each day, with easy access and drop off in their parking lot at the corner of Solar Street and Hiawatha Boulevard. All individuals donating bottles and cans on these days will receive a Destiny USA Passport of Savings, full of exclusive savings, deals and discounts to use at participating shopping, dining and entertainment venues.
“By the simple task collecting bottles and cans and bringing them to our collection site on drop-off day, you will help support Honor Flight Syracuse and veterans throughout our region,” said Stephen Nee, recently retired executive vice president, TOMRA. “We’re so incredibly grateful to all of our employees and our customers for helping us in these efforts, which remains very personal to me and is such an important endeavor on so many levels.”
“Nothing is more important than showing our deep appreciation for the service and sacrifice of the veterans we serve throughout Central New York,” said Kevin Bradley, president of Honor Flight Syracuse. “We are so honored and grateful to have TOMRA and Destiny USA support our efforts in raising awareness and donations for Honor Flight Syracuse and our veterans, as we continue our mission of flying them to Washington, DC to receive the honor and recognition they so rightfully deserve.”
If you can’t make it to DESTINY USA to donate your bottles and cans, TOMRA will accept them through Monday, April 17 at its various Bottle and Can Retrieval Centers in the Syracuse area, including those located at: 6222 Thompson Road, Syracuse, 2204 Brewerton Road, Syracuse, 6194 Route 31 Unit 2, Cicero, 224 Chapel Drive, Syracuse, 1833 Teal Ave., Syracuse and 202 W.
