The library’s Dickens Book Sale is held within the library during the Dickens Christmas Festival. You’ll find gift-quality used books and more for all ages – buy for yourself, or buy for a friend!
Playdough Explorations | Friday, December 2nd from 10:30 – 11:00 AM: Join us on the first Friday of the month for a special program for kids 18 months to 3 years. Each child will explore simple ways to play, mold, and squish taste-safe playdough. This program helps to develop fine motor skills, introduce cutting with safety scissors, and inspire creativity.
Sit ‘n Stitch | Tuesday, December 13th from 2:00 – 3:30 PM
Love to knit, crochet, embroider, quilt, cross stitch, etc? Bring your WIP (work in progress), meet new friends, and connect with old ones! While this is not an instructional class, learn from the wisdom of others and share ideas. The Sit ‘n Stitch group will meet on the second Tuesday of every month.
Library Board Meeting | Tuesday, December 13th at 6:30 PM: The Library Board is made up of community members who volunteer their time and skills to further the mission of the library. All meetings are open, and the public is welcome to attend.
Guitar Concert: Anthony LaLena | Saturday, December 17th at 7:30 PM:
As a versatile soloist and chamber musician, Anthony LaLena has performed throughout Europe and the US in venues ranging from traditional concert halls to libraries, museums, cultural centers, hospitals, castles, and toy museums. He also remains an active musician at home in Western New York, where he has been a fixture at the annual Great Lakes Guitar Society Festival in Buffalo as a performer and lecturer, and a frequent guest at the Little Theatre’s Classical Guitar Night in Rochester. Most recently, Dr. LaLena was honored to perform Heitor Villa-Lobos’ Concerto for Guitar and Small Orchestra at the Eastman School of Music as the winner of the Eastman Concerto Competition. His current lecture-recital explores the negotiations of Spanish national identity through the first works for solo guitar by twentieth-century Spanish composers.
Board Games and Hot Cocoa | Wednesday, December 28th from 11:00 AM
– 4:00 PM: Drop-in to the library for a cozy afternoon of playing board games and sipping hot chocolate. A variety of board games will be set up as well as a hot chocolate bar to build your own tasty beverage. Games recommended for kids 3+.
Meet a Therapy Dog: Nessie | Thursday, December 29th from 3:30 – 5:00 PM: Drop in at the library to meet Nessie! Read her a short story from our collection or simply soak up all her sweet doggie vibes. Location: Children’s Room. For kids beginning to read independently to age 18.
Noon Year’s BINGO | Friday, December 30th from 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM: Ring in the “noon” year at the library! We’ll play several rounds of BINGO while we countdown to noon and toast with glasses of sparkling juice. Every child will win a small prize during our BINGO game. For ages 5 – 10 with an adult. Registration required.

Craft Kits | Available beginning December 1st | First come, first served
⦁ Toddlers to 8 years old: Make a winter tree collage and a handprint penguin. Need glue? Just ask!
⦁ Kids 9+: Make a snowy owl beaded “pet” with pony beads and silk chord.
⦁ Teens & Adults: Craft Smorgasbord. Choose from a variety of fun crafts!
Drop-In Tech Help | Mondays 10:00 AM – Noon: Let us help with your tech questions: computers and mobile devices, downloading e-content from the library’s catalog, using Google Drive and social media platforms! Bring your device and drop in during a Tech Help session to get started! Appointments are also available, please give us a call at 315-685-5135 or email [email protected] to schedule.
Story Time for Bookworms | Tuesdays at 10:30 AM: For children who enjoy longer books, this story time includes multiple stories, songs, and ends with hands-on play. For ages 2 – 5.
Baby Bounce & Rhyme | Wednesdays at 9:15 AM: Bond with your baby during this program featuring nursery rhymes, books, movement and fingerplays, followed by playtime. For babies up to 18 months.
Read, Sing, Play Story Time | Thursdays at 10:30 AM: Can’t sit still? No problem! Join us for stories, songs and movement. For ages 18 months – 4 years.
