Community support and generosity shines
Even though things looked very different this year, the Jordan Turkey Trot was still a success. According to Ken Bush III there were still runners and walkers who traveled the course Thursday morning, all exercising caution and wearing masks and social distancing. But despite the change to the usual run that starts off Thanksgiving morning in Jordan, the community showed its support where it matters most. “But most importantly, we saw record numbers from the community with donations. The Turkey Trot collected 3,073 food items! Having the trailer for food drop-off was a success, we collected over 1,200 items just on the days leading up to Thanksgiving. Then Thanksgiving, the generous support kept coming to put us at 3,073 items.”
