State Police is investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred on Hencoop Road in the town of Skaneateles, Onondaga County.
The preliminary investigation has revealed 55-year-old Michele M. Frank, from Skaneateles, NY was walking westbound on Hencoop Road, along the shoulder, with a female friend when a 2012 Toyota Prius, operated by William E. Leubner, age 91 from Skaneateles, who was traveling west on Hencoop Road, struck Mrs. Frank. Mrs. Frank was transported to Auburn Community Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.
Mr. Leubner or the other pedestrian was not injured in the crash. A State Police DRE (Drug Recognition Expert) responded to the scene and determined Mr. Leubner showed no signs of alcohol and/or drugs being a factor in the crash.
The investigation is continuing.
