Elbridge Free Library prepares for summer
The Elbridge Free Library kicked off its Summer Learning Program with an open house on June 26 and has a whole slate of events planned throughout the summer months.
The program is for children ages 3 to 18 and runs through Wednesday, Aug. 12.
For every book read, children will earn one raffle ticket to be eligible to win a final prize. Extra raffle tickets will be given to teens that participate in special challenges. All raffle tickets must be turned in by Friday, Aug. 9. Final prizes will be awarded Wednesday, Aug. 14.
Kids in Motion Plus will be held on Monday mornings in July and August at 10:15 a.m. for children ages 2 to 5.
Mondays at 11 a.m., July 8 Through Aug. 12, Alyson Esposition will provide an arts and crafts program.

July 10 Zoo To You 6:30 p.m. Come face to face with exciting zoo animals from the Rosamond Gifford Zoo. Learn how you can make a difference to wildlife.
July 17 Jeff the Magic Man 6:30 p.m. “Space Adventure” storytelling, by a whimsical personality along with balloon twisting. Great for all ages.
July 24 Dinosaur Dig 6:30 p.m. There will be a dinosaur dig site right in the library and you will get a chance to dig and identify real dinosaur bones. You will learn about fossils and spend time looking at a fossil museum. Must register at 315-689-7111.
July 31 The MOST 6:30 p.m.
A program educator from the MOST will bring an interactive demonstration. For children of all ages.
Aug. 7 Nancy Sander Puppets with Pizazz. 6:30 p.m. She will be performing “The Owl and the Pussycat.” Fun adventure with audience participation.
Aug. 14 Dan the Snakeman 6:30 p.m. You will gain a better understating of snakes, reptiles and their environments. You will get to interact with the exotic animals.
Overdue fines may be waived on a child’s card if child reads five books and completes form available from Elbridge Free Library. Only overdue fines on late items posted before June 25 are eligible.
