Chiarenza, Dooling and Rigney get town board seats

Unofficial results from the Nov. 7 DeWitt Town elections show incumbent Democrat Ed Michalenko will hold on to the seat of town supervisor for another term, beating out Republican Greg Scicchitano with 3,860 to 2,639 votes.
“I want to thank the voters in DeWitt,” Michalenko said “I look forward to another term to complete the work I’ve started.”
In the town board race there were three open seats. Incumbent Democrat Joe Chiarenza got 4,947 votes, Democrat Jack Dooling got 3,901 and incumbent Democrat Kerin Rigney got 3,675 votes, beating out Republican Mike Durkin who got 3,226 votes and Conservative Bernard Ment with 1,225 votes.
For town justice, incumbent Republican Robert Jokl leads against Democrat challenger Karen Docter with a vote of 3,285 to 3,151.
Incumbent town clerk Democrat Angela Epolito was reelected in an uncontested race with 5,389 votes. Republican highway supervisor Rocco Conte also ran unopposed and was reelected to his seat with 4,780 votes.
