Even though it was competing in familiar surroundings at Pelcher-Arcaro Stadium, each of Baldwinsville’s track and field team still found themselves chasing Liverpool and Cicero-North Syracuse during Thursday’s CNY Counties League National division championship meet.
The girls Bees picked up 112 points and the boys Bees had 111 points. Each time, that meant a third-place finish, with C-NS second and Liverpool managing to sweep the league titles.
B’ville’s girls team won three different events. One came in the 400 sprint, where Rachael Miller, in 59.43 seconds, held off Liverpool’s Yasmeen Griffin (1:00.16) as Katie Wicks (1:02.12) finished sixth.
