Salina Supervisor Mark Nicotra has announced that he will be running again.
Nicotra announced last week that he will be seeking a fifth term as town supervisor. He first won the seat in 2007, taking office in January of 2008.
“During my eight years as town supervisor, I am proud of what my colleagues and I have been able to accomplish on the town board,” Nicotra said in a press release. “Working together we were able to stabilize the tax rate, rebuild the town’s infrastructure, and continue to deliver the services that the residents expect at an affordable price.”
Nicotra, a Republican, was first elected to the town board in 2002 as the town’s fourth ward councilor, representing the Lyncourt and Galeville areas. He served three terms there before running for supervisor against former Third Ward Councilor Mike Giarrusso. He is also active in the Save 81 campaign, which seeks to keep Interstate 81 as an elevated highway through the city of Syracuse.
