Seven people are in the hospital after four shootings and three stabbings on Syracuse streets over the weekend.
The victims range in age between 17 and 36, and the assaults were spread across most of the city. A stabbing in an apartment building kicked off the weekend of violence, followed by downtown, broad daylight and culminated by a shooting outside of the Boys and Girls Club on Shonnard Street.
Syracuse Police continue to investigate the majority of these incidents.
10:25 p.m., Thursday, May 10. 1207 Almond Street
Police responded to the apartment complex to find James Carson, 36, stabbed on the 20th floor. Police say Warren Agnew, 46, stabbed Carson with a kitchen knife. Carson was taken to University Hospital in critical condition. Agnew was charged with second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
1 p.m., Friday, May 11. Corner of E. Fayette and S. Salina Street.
Broad daylight and not far from the Salina Street bus stop was the scene of a stabbing on Friday. Larry McCraney, 27, was stabbed multiple times by three or four black males. The men were all wearing baseball caps and were in their 20s. McCraney is in critical condition at University Hospital. Police say the attack was caught on cell phone cameras.
5:05 p.m., Friday, May 11. Midland Avenue
A shooting at the corner of Midland and West Ostrander Avenue left a 17-year-old with non life-threatening injuries. Russell Hanson was shot in the right thigh and taken to University Hospital.
6:45 p.m., Friday, May 11. South Salina Street at Wood Avenue
It was a double trauma on South Salina Street and Wood Avenue. Tyshawn Keene, 18, was stabbed in the left arm and hand. He was taken to University Hospital by ambulance. Not far from there, Johnny Edwards, 19, was shot in his upper right arm. He was taken to Crouse Hospital by a private vehicle.
Police say the stabbing and shooting are likely related.
8:05 p.m., Saturday, May 12. South Avenue.
A man was struck by a bullet in his thigh on South Avenue near Rockland. He called 911 and was taken to Community General Hospital before police arrived.
1:45 a.m., Sunday, May 13. Shonnard Street.
A party was letting out at the Boys and Girls Club on Shonnard Street when Landrous Hill, 20, was shot in his right calf. He was taken to University Hospital before police arrived, but was subsequently charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Police allege he was found with crack cocaine at the hospital. The party at the club, which promotes non-violence and a safe place for children and teens, was let out in the early morning. Shots were fired as the party-goers left. Officers who were about a block away hear multiple shots fired and responded.
