Syracuse Philharmonic holds public forums to share plan, receive feedback from community

The new Syracuse Philharmonic Society will host two public forums to share its plan for a future orchestra with the community.

The first forum will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, in Memorial Hall at the War Memorial at Oncenter, 515 Montgomery St.

A second forum is planned for 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, at the same location.

The forums will also be an opportunity for the new organization to gain input and hear ideas about what the community desires from a new orchestra in Central New York.

The Syracuse Philharmonic is a new musical organization that provides professional musical performances, products and services that meet the needs of the Central and Upstate New York region. It offers live performances, broadcasts/webcasts, musical support and recorded music products in a variety of styles, settings and ensemble configurations.

The organization was established by former members of the now-defunct Syracuse Symphony Orchestra, which closed its doors earlier this year.
