By taking three of the four doubles matches, the Cicero-North Syracuse boys tennis team made it through last Monday’s match with Oswego, beating the Buccaneers 4-3 to move to 5-4 on the season.
Chris Caporuscio and Alex Zorn beat Austin Demott and Nick Bonacorsi 6-4, 6-4, with Dvae Novitsky and Jim Howe topping Zach Schrecengost and Tom Bartholomew by those exact same scores. In three sets, Mike Rodriguez and John Carey earned a 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 win over Joe Hart and Alex Kaplewicz 6-4, 4-6, 6-4.
Up in singles, CNS got the only point it required when Kaleb Bowers beat Brad McGivney 6-0, 6-3. Mark Fallinski lost in straight sets 6-4, 6-4 to Matt Randall, and Kevin Tubolino saw an early lead dissipate in a 0-6, 6-4, 6-4 loss to Kris Baum.
