B’ville Music Showdown a success

More than 100 people attended the second annual Singer Songwriter Showdown, which was brought to the community by C&G Music of Baldwinsville.

Local rocker and event co-organizer Garrett Knaub hosted the event, was held March 26 at the historic Mohegan Manor in Baldwinsville. The Showdown featured performances from 12 artists who were chosen from more than 30 entrants.

This year’s judges were Dave Frisina, Stacey Waterman, dXn, Lisa Gentile and Adem Bingham. The 12 finalists were judged on originality, performance and most memorable with prizes totaling more than $2,000. First place went to Danan Healey, second place to Jason Bean and third place to Billy Martin.

Other performing finalists included Joe DiMaggio, Ed Sheedy, Maynah Goble, Charles Marlowe, John Keller, Eric Spaulding, Galen McCown, Mike McKay and Maggie Goble. The event, which was sponsored in part by The Hollow Recording, is meant to bring attention to both seasoned and blossoming local talent. Check out these great musicians at myspace.com/ssshowdown.
