The Greater Baldwinsville Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament, held at the Nicklaus Design Golf Course at Timber Banks Golf & Marina, was a great success with more than 20 teams competing.
Each player had a shot at winning a Cruise for two on the Carnival Dream for the Cruise Planners 2011 Super Bowl at Sea Party, which was a hole-in-one contest sponsored by Cruise Planners. Unfortunately none of the 80+ golfers were able to get a Hole in One on the tough fourth hole, a 153-yard par 3 over water. However, there were about half a dozen golfers who landed their tee shot within a few feet of the hole.
All of the contestants enjoyed a lunch and lesson on driving from the Timber Banks PGA professional before the 1 o’clock shot gun start. The tournament was a Capitan and Crew format, and had a special division for Baldwinsville pubs and taverns, which was won by Pizza Man Pub. The golf was followed by dinner catered by Tabitha’s Family Tree restaurant and an award ceremony.
Plans are in the works already to return to Timber Banks in 2011 with a slightly larger field and more extras including another Cruise Planners sponsored Hole in One Contest – perhaps a Hawaiian Cruise for two.
