Per Eagle Newspapers’ policy, we do not publish election letters in the print edition the week prior to election days, but we will share letters that did not make the print edition online.

To the editor,
Our family moved to the Town of Manlius from the Town of Dewitt about a year ago. We built a beautiful home in Kirkville and love the change of pace that living in a rural area allows. With the local election coming up soon, we began researching the political landscape in the town, so that we are well educated and ready for the election.
We quickly realized that the population of the town north of the Erie Canal is not well represented in Town government. We were happy to learn that Kiernan May is running for Town Board. We believe he will do a great job giving the residents on the north side of town a voice. As a friend of our family, we are even happier to endorse Kiernan.
Our family has known Kiernan for 5 years, as a coach for our son’s lacrosse team. He selflessly has dedicated many hours of his time the kids and the community. When coaching, his priority is for the kids to learn the game, love the game and respect each other. This is not an attribute you find in every coach, but these attributes are admirable and transferable to local politics. I am confident in his abilities to lead by getting youth more involved, actively pursuing needs of all residents, and prioritizing the need for fiscal responsibility.
We look forward to what the future holds for the Town and feel confident that Kiernan will be key to driving positive change.
Signed,
Fritz and Aimee Blok

To the Editor:
It is our pleasure to endorse Mark Olson for County Legislator. As long-time Fayetteville Trustees, we have served with Mayor Mark during his tenure as trustee and then as mayor. As mayor, he has always made it a priority to listen and respond to the needs of the residents, and he has consistently worked hard to find favorable solutions. Upon being elected mayor, he immediately launched programs and projects that were financially sound as well as beneficial for the citizens he serves. He has worked with the NYSDOT to obtain land in the lower village, now Canal Landing Park. That park connects to the pathways along the Feeder Canal and provided Fayetteville access to the Erie Canal. He completed connectivity within the village with the addition of new sidewalks and footbridges and focused on village renovations including other village parks, the Firehouse, DPW Garage and Senior Center. Mark worked to secure approximately 90% of the cost for these projects through grants. As County Legislator, the people he will represent, and the County at large, will benefit by the enthusiasm, energy, ideas and care that Mark continually exemplifies in his leadership.
Sincerely,
Dan Kinsella and Mike Small

To the Editor:
I saw Manlius government close up earlier this year when an issue affecting my neighborhood came before the town council and the planning board. At meeting after meeting, a group of us representing both political parties presented fact-based arguments for our position.
As a lifelong, yellow-dog Democrat, I was dismayed — no, more than that — I was deflated to hear John Deer, a Democratic member of the town council, dismiss our participation as though he weren’t listening. His only reaction was to call us by a single, disrespectful name. Mr. Deer exhibited exactly the politics of demonizing, of dividing and labeling which Trump and his henchmen practice on the national stage.
Rich Rossetti, a Republican on the planning board, impressed me immensely. His comments and questions invariably reflected careful attention to all of the residents who made presentations. Mr. Rossetti made points that showed a balanced outlook with a positive attitude in finding solutions.
This Democrat hopes Rich Rossetti will be the next Town Supervisor in Manlius.

ethics.
Mark’s well-known commitment to our community and accountability in government will promote a
refreshing atmosphere in Onondaga County. If you want to see honest people in government, join me in

To the Editor:
I met Rich Rossetti about 12 years ago. In that time, I have come to know him as an individual of unquestionable integrity, balance, and fairness. A long-time Manlius resident, Rich appreciates the unique history of our area as well as the needs and challenges of his neighbors.
Rich offers years of real-world business experience: he knows how to plan; assess risks and benefits; devise and stick to a budget; and seek consensus on solutions to problems. He has and will always put principles over political party, respect each citizen equally, and welcome a multiplicity of voices to the public square.
Moreover, Rich understands the narrow duties of Town Supervisor and would serve the people’s interests within those limited parameters. He seeks to perform as a public servant for the good of all, not to impose a personal agenda that appeases some at the expense of others. Beyond these qualifications, Rich is a loving, devoted husband and father; a gentle man; and a gentleman.
For these reasons, I wholeheartedly pledge my support and my vote to Rich Rossetti for Town of Manlius Supervisor.
Respectfully,
Katherine Kurtz

Why We’re Voting Across the Aisle for the Rotondo-Lipe Ticket in Pompey:
We are 27-year Pompey homeowners and residents who are thankful to call our little piece of
Pompey “home.” We moved here from out of state, each of us started a business here, and
we’ve been involved in the community ever since. We are lifelong Republicans who, again
this election, are voting “across the aisle” for our current Town Supervisor, Renee Rotondo, and
Bill Lipe for Town Board. Two years ago, when we first supported and helped Ms. Rotondo win,
we were struck with her professional credentials, strong ethics, and passion for the people of
Pompey. After she was elected, she quickly established herself as an effective leader: someone
who listens; a person who is all about the work and getting things done; and the rare individual
who rolls up her sleeves (and sometimes pulls on the muckers) to meet the townspeople where
they are and where their issues lie. This election, Bill Lipe has joined the ticket. His previous
service to the Town as a Planning Board member, his education, personal and professional
reputation, and his long family legacy with our Town will add to the strength of Pompey’s Town
Board. We are most enthusiastically supporting Ms. Rotondo and Mr. Lipe to continue the
execution of the excellent work that was begun 2 years ago…and to maintain the practice of
treating the people of Pompey with the respect and thoughtful attention, so lacking in previous
administrations, that decency demands.

Dear Town of Manlius Voter,
I am writing to endorse my friend Judge Jim Hughes to serve as Manlius Town Judge. I would like to encourage all residents in the Town of Manlius to vote for him on November 2.
I served as a Minoa Village Justice for 10 years and have personally experienced the responsibilities and challenges of serving as a local judge. Judge Hughes understands and is ready to meet these responsibilities and challenges.
Judge Hughes is well regarded for his 8 years of service as Village of Fayetteville Justice. He possesses the experience, temperament and commitment needed to serve our community as Town Judge. Judge Hughes is well prepared to assume the responsibilities of Town Judge.
Please consider voting for Judge Hughes on November 2.
Thank You,
Bill Brazill
Mayor, Village of Minoa

Letter to Editor:
I am writing on behalf of David Rothschild for Town of Manlius Justice. As a lifelong Republican and former two-term Onondaga County Court Judge/Acting Supreme Court Judge, I am putting politics aside, both local and national, because I firmly believe David Rothschild will be an outstanding Judge in the Town of Manlius.
I have known David for over 15 years as a Confidential Law Assistant to the Onondaga County Court. During that time, he has demonstrated an outstanding work ethic and an ability to analyze complicated legal issues and to correctly apply the law to the facts of a case in a just, fair, impartial, and unbiased manner. In doing so, he always applies the use of common sense in every case that he is involved with.
The Town Courts play a vital role in the New York State Unified Court System and require broad experience in both civil and criminal matters. David Rothschild has demonstrated to me and the legal community that he has that broad experience in both civil and criminal cases which makes him eminently qualified to be a Judge.
In my humble opinion, David Rothschild is the most qualified candidate to assume the duties and responsibilities of a Judge in the Town of Manlius and the citizens of the Town would be well served.
Hon. Anthony F. Aloi
