For the third consecutive year, Stone Quarry Hill Art Park (SQHAP) will be holding its snow drawing event, a unique public art making opportunity as inspired by the artist Sonja Hinrichsen. This year’s event will take place during Winter Festival Weekend from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10.
“Over 100 people participated in last year’s event and we are hopeful that the weather will cooperate again this year,” said Kelli Johnson, interim executive director at SQHAP. “The Park is open year round and this is a wonderful opportunity for people to experience the beauty of SQHAP in wintertime.”
Those interested in learning more about the event and to see images of Hinrichsen’s other work around the globe are invited to a slide show to be shown at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 8, at Common Grounds Coffeehouse.
Snowshoeing experience is not a requirement and snowshoes will be available courtesy of Cazenovia Central School, Colgate University Outdoor Education Program, and Rogers Environmental Education Center. Tickets to participate are $5 per person. Children age 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Light refreshments will be available.
