An energy-conscious resident of Fayetteville will virtually welcome visitors into his home this coming Saturday.
The live tour of Peter Wirth’s household at 113 Cammot Lane will detail the energy-efficient upgrades he had put in place over time, including his hybrid system comprising a residential air source heat pump, a natural gas furnace and a photovoltaic array. He intends to delve into his journey to distance from fossil fuels as well as his long-term aim for net-zero greenhouse gas emissions.
The event will be held over Zoom from 3 to 4:30 p.m. on March 26. It will be co-sponsored by grassroots community initiative HeatSmart CNY and environmental group Sustainable Manlius.
The guided walk through Wirth’s home will be followed by an interactive question-and-answer portion.
Installer Mike Grabowski of Constantia-based contractor Breathe Easy of CNY Heating & Cooling will also be on hand either in Zoom mode or in person to respond to inquiries.
